Solas Concert - Oct 9 Solas has been loudly proclaimed as the United States's most popular, influential, and exciting Celtic band. Solas' sound is anchored by founders Seamus Egan, who plays flute, tenor banjo, mandolin, whistle, guitar and bodhran, and fiddler Winifred Horan. Mick McAuley from Kilkenny plays accordion and concertina; Eamon McElholm from Tyrone plays guitar and keyboards. Tickets go on sale, Saturday, July 26. Who was St. Brendan?
Brendan belonged to what was called the Second Order of Irish saints, also known as the Twelve Apostles of Ireland. His influence was widespread, not only in Ireland but in Scotland, England, Wales, and in continental Europe, Germany and along the Baltic coast to the Gulf of Finland.
